Punjab CM condoles death of Jaswant Rai Bansal

Chandigarh, August 23, 2014: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of former Chairman Punjab Public Service Commission and Ex-member Union Public Service Commission Jaswant Rai Bansal (88), who passed away at New Delhi on Friday after a brief illness.

In a condolence message, the Chief Minister recalled the outstanding services rendered by Jaswant Rai Bansal during his tenure in PPSC and UPSC. He said that during his stint in PPSC and UPSC, Bansal exhibited the probity, transparency and commitment at his best while serving on these constitutional posts.

Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved family, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and courage to family members to bear this irreparable loss.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Revenue and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia also mourned the passing away of Bansal.

It may be recalled that Bansal was the father-in-law of the Chairman of Punjab State Right to Service Commission and former Chief Secretary of the state, SC Aggarwal.
