Punjab asks offices to stop misuse of electric equipments

Chandigarh, September 4, 2013: The Punjab government today issued instructions to all the heads of departments to make sure that there was no misuse of electric equipments in the offices of the state including Punjab Civil Secretariat and Mini Secretariat.

Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the Punjab government said that it has been noticed that electricity equipments like ACs, Computers, Tube lights, Bulbs and Fans remains switched on in the offices of Ministers/Officers without their presence in the offices. Now according to the instructions all branch Superintendent/Officers in-charge would have to ensure that these are switch off immediately as the Ministers/officers had left the office. Besides that they would also have to ensure that no equipment should remains switch on after the office time. 

The spokesman further made it clear that lights could be used in office corridors during night for security reasons. He said that in the case of failure to implement these orders in true spirit and manner, the concerned officer/employee would have to face strict action.
