Pulse Polio Drive From September 13 To 17

Ludhiana, September 11, 2015: Additional Deputy Commissioner Jagraon Mr Davinder Singh has informed that the pulse polio drive in the district would be carried out from September 13-17, 2015. While chairinga meeting regrading the same here today, Mr Davinder Singh informed that allarrangements for the success of this pulse polio drive have been completed bythe state health department.

District Immunisation Officer Dr Manjit Singh informed that this pulse polio drive would be carried in all parts of Ludhiana district.

The ADC has directed all the concerned staff to make sure all brick kilns, slum areas, bus stand and other such places are covered during the pulse polio drive. He informed that atotal of 3,85,679 children from migrant families falling in the age group of0-5 from urban and rural areas of Ludhiana district would be covered during the pulse polio drive.

For immunisation  of these children, a total of 2,028 teams have been formed, out of which 97 will be mobile teams, 67 transit teams, and 1,864 teams have been formed for door to door immunisation of children. A total of 357 supervisors have been appointed for the smooth operation of this drive.

From September 13 to 17, 2015, the health workers would carry out this drive by visiting different areas in Ludhiana city, and urban areas of Koom Kalan and Sahnewal blocks. Similarly,from September 13 to 15, 2015, the health workers would administer polio drops to children in Khanna, Jagraon and Samrala. From September 13 to 15, 2015,children from migrant families would be covered at Community Health Centre Payal, Manupur, Machhiwara, Malaud, Sudhar, Pakhowal, Hathur, Sidhwan Bet and Raikot.
