PU Vice Chancellor meets UHV delegation and updates on value-based initiatives
Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh receives recognition as the Nodal Centre for Universal Human Values (UHV) in the North-Western Region (2025-2027), the Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig met UHV team and congratulated them for securing the Nodal Centre status.
Chandigarh, April 1, 2026: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh receives recognition as the Nodal Centre for Universal Human Values (UHV) in the North-Western Region (2025-2027), the Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig met UHV team and congratulated them for securing the Nodal Centre status.
The delegation comprised Founding Coordinator, UHV Cell, Prof. Latika Sharma; Coordinator, UHV Cell, Prof. Shankar Sehgal; and Co-Coordinator, UHV Cell, Dr. Garima Joshi. The team shared updates with Prof. Renu Vig on initiatives aimed at promoting value-based education, including Faculty Development Programmes, Student Development Programmes, workshops, and efforts towards curriculum integration.
She acknowledged their sustained efforts in promoting Universal Human Values within the academic framework of the University.
Vice Chancellor also provided guidance for further strengthening UHV initiatives to benefit students, faculty, and staff, and emphasised the need for a structured annual plan to enhance outreach and engagement. She also assured institutional support for organising programmes under the UHV Centre.
The UHV team expressed gratitude for the Prof. Renu Vig’s encouragement and reiterated their commitment to advancing value-based education initiatives at Panjab University.
