Chandigarh, April 7, 2026: A three-day hands-on workshop on “Process Simulation using UniSim” is being conducted at Dr. SSB University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology (UICET), Panjab University (PU), from April 6 to 8, 2026.
The workshop is being led by Srinivas Iyer, Principal Engineer - Licensing (LNG & Cryogenics) at Shell plc, Bengaluru, and an alumnus of the 1992 batch of DCET, PU.
Held at the UICET Computer Lab, the workshop is providing participants with a structured, industry-oriented introduction to UniSim, a widely used process simulation tool in the chemical and energy sectors. The sessions are progressing from fundamental concepts to advanced, real-world simulation scenarios, enabling students to develop practical competencies aligned with industry requirements.
Drawing on his experience in LNG and cryogenic engineering, Iyer is integrating real-world case studies to demonstrate the application of process simulation in industrial settings, helping bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice.
Organised under the aegis of the DCET Alumni Association, the initiative has been well received by students and faculty for its application-driven approach.
The workshop will conclude on April 8.
