Ivy World School Celebrates Gandhi Jayanti with a Meaningful Swadeshi and Sustainability Experience

Jalandhar, October 3, 2026: Under the aegis of Vasal Education, Ivy World School celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with great enthusiasm through an engaging Swadeshi-themed learning experience that connected Gandhian values with creativity, sustainability and responsible citizenship.

The celebration introduced students to Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of self-reliance, Swadeshi and simple living. They explored a diverse range of Indian products, handicrafts, Khadi, handloom items and traditional artefacts, developing a deeper appreciation for India’s rich cultural heritage and the craftsmanship of its artisans.

A major highlight of the event was a virtual tour of Gandhi Ashram, which offered students an enriching opportunity to learn about Gandhiji’s life, principles, simple lifestyle and significant contribution to the Swadeshi Movement. This interactive experience enabled them to connect with history beyond textbooks and understand the continued relevance of Gandhian values in contemporary life.

Adding an environmental dimension to the celebration, students enthusiastically participated in the “Swadeshi: Junk to Genius – Best Out of Waste” activity, inspired by the vision of Swachh Bharat. They creatively transformed discarded materials into useful and innovative products, demonstrating the principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. The activity encouraged imagination while fostering environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility towards the planet.

Through these thoughtfully designed activities, students understood the importance of supporting Indian products, respecting artisans, preserving cultural heritage, reducing waste and making responsible choices. The celebration beautifully brought together the values of Swadeshi, sustainability, creativity and service, inspiring young minds to become responsible citizens who value both their heritage and the environment.

Sanjeev Kumar Vasal, Chairman, Vasal Education, appreciated the thoughtful celebration and encouraged students to embrace the values of self-reliance, simplicity, service and respect for India’s rich heritage. He emphasised that true education lies in nurturing responsible individuals who contribute positively to society and care for the environment.

Raghav Vasal, CEO, Vasal Education, applauded the students for their creativity and enthusiastic participation. He encouraged them to carry forward the spirit of Swadeshi by making conscious choices, valuing Indian craftsmanship, reducing waste and adopting sustainable practices in their daily lives.

The event reflected Ivy World School’s commitment to experiential, value-based and holistic education, empowering children not only to learn about inspiring personalities and national values but also to practise these ideals in their everyday lives.
