Northern Region Science & Technology Cluster, PI-RAHI (PU-IIT Ropar Regional Accelerator for Holistic Innovations Foundation), and Policy Advisory and Network for Joint Progress (PANJ) Foundation are jointly organising a landmark Regional Seminar on ‘Innovation Index Ranking Frameworks: Bolstering Development at Global, National, and Subnational Levels’ on July 25, at Golden Jubilee Hall, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, July 23, 2025: Northern Region Science & Technology Cluster, PI-RAHI (PU-IIT Ropar Regional Accelerator for Holistic Innovations Foundation), and Policy Advisory and Network for Joint Progress (PANJ) Foundation are jointly organising a landmark Regional Seminar on ‘Innovation Index Ranking Frameworks: Bolstering Development at Global, National, and Subnational Levels’ on July 25, at Golden Jubilee Hall, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

The seminar aims to critically examine the methodologies behind global and regional innovation indices and their significance in shaping evidence-based development planning. Special focus will be placed on leveraging these frameworks to strengthen Northern India’s growing innovation ecosystems.

The seminar will feature a high-powered panel of global and national thought leaders in the innovation policy space, including Prof. Soumitra Dutta, Peter Moores Dean, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford and Co-founder of the Global Innovation Index; Dr. Amit Kapoor, Honorary Chairman, Institute for Competitiveness and Co-author of the India Innovation Index; and Dr. Jatinder Kaur Arora, Advisor, PI-RAHI, Northern Region S&T Cluster.

PU Vice Chancellor and Chairperson, PI-RAHI, Prof. Renu Vig will preside over the event as the Chief Guest. 

The programme will include keynote addresses and a panel discussion featuring Dr. Vishal Chaudhary, Scientist-F, Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India; Dr. Rajat Sandhir, Director, PI-RAHI; Dr. Dapinder Kaur Bakshi, Joint Director (Research, Innovation & Startup Facilitation), Punjab State Council for Science & Technology; Sh. Navneet Kumar Srivastava, IFS, Director, Science & Technology, Chandigarh Administration; and Mr. Naman Singhal, CEO, Atal Incubation Centre, Indian School of Business.

The seminar is expected to draw participation from scientists, policymakers, scholars, industry leaders, and representatives of science and technology clusters across India. The discussions will aim to foster a policy-oriented approach to innovation and regional development.
