PU Students to Benefit from Faster, Paperless Document Attestation via e-Sanad
In a major move to strengthen digital services and support students pursuing opportunities abroad, Panjab University(PU), Chandigarh today onboarded onto the e-Sanad portal, an initiative of the Ministry of External Affairs in coordination with the National Informatics Centre.
Chandigarh, April 15, 2026: In a major move to strengthen digital services and support students pursuing opportunities abroad, Panjab University(PU), Chandigarh today onboarded onto the e-Sanad portal, an initiative of the Ministry of External Affairs in coordination with the National Informatics Centre.
PU students applying for higher education, employment, or migration abroad will now benefit from a fully digitized workflow as this will facilitate online attestation of documents for use overseas.
The event was presided over by PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig. The event was attended by Controller of Examinations Prof. Jagat Bhushan, Director Public Relations Dr. Vineet Punia and System administrator Mamta Gupta from Panjab University and Vivek Verma Deputy Director General & State Informatics Officer, NIC, Punjab, Kirti Mahajan, Director IT, Sanjeev Kumar, Director IT from National Informatics Centre, Punjab and Dr. Dharmendra Singh, State Nodal Officer-cum-Assistant Director Higher Education , Punjab.
Speaking on the occasion, PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig said, "This integration is one more step to leveraging technology for student-centric services. By joining the e-Sanad ecosystem, we are enabling our students and alumni to access faster, more reliable document authentication services, which are crucial for their global academic and professional aspirations."
Controller of Examinations, Prof. Jagat Bhushan further informed that a dedicated facilitation mechanism will be established to assist users with registration, document submission, and tracking of applications on the e-Sanad portal. Step-by-step user guides, helpdesk support, and awareness initiatives will be rolled out to ensure that students and alumni can easily navigate the system.
The integration with the e-Sanad platform will enable PU students and alumni to obtain online verification and attestation of academic documents in a seamless, secure, and time-bound manner. This initiative is aligned with the Government of India’s Digital India vision, which emphasises ease of access, transparency, and efficiency in public service delivery.
Students and alumni requiring attestation of their academic documents for international purposes are encouraged to utilise the e-Sanad portal through the Ministry of External Affairs website.
