PSPCL taking route of social media channels to reach its consumers

Ludhiana: Progressing ahead to establish a positive relation with the consumers, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited has opted to take the route of social media to reach its consumers. Now, consumers can contact PSPCL through Customer Care Email, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp, and Mobile App also.

This move is a part of the comprehensive plan chalked out by the department to ensure quality, reliable and uninterrupted power supply to all the consumers, especially to both farming and industrial sector in the upcoming paddy season 2021.
Shri A. Venu Prasad IAS, Chairman –cum- Managing Director, PSPCL, visited Ludhiana today to take the stock of all pre-preparations. He was welcomed by Er. Bhupinder Khosla, Chief Engineer Distribution, Central Ludhiana.

During his visit, Shri A. Venu Prasad IAS examined the working at the electricity fuse of  call centre in Chaura Bazaar, Janta Nagar both in toll free no.1912 and highlighted that to earn the trust of the consumers, it is important to hear their complaints and resolve them immediately. Therefore, PSPCL has set up round the clock electricity call centre and recently a new building for the same was constructed at 66KV GIS substation in Chaura Bazaar,Ludhiana.

He added that apart from registering complaint by calling or sending SMS at 1912, the consumer can also use PSPCL Mobile App to register & track status of complaints which provide feedback on complaint resolution. “If not satisfied with the resolution of the complaint, the consumer can also contact PSPCL through Customer Care Email ([email protected]), Facebook (fb.com/pspclpb), Twitter (twitter.com/PSPCLPb), Instagram (instagram.com/PSPCLPb) or Whatsapp at 96461-06835,” CMD said.

He further stated that the special control room has been setup for dealing the complaints during paddy season. One can contact Paddy Control Room at 96461-06835 or 96461-06836 to get their complaints registered and redressed.

Shri, A.Venu Prasad IAS took stock of position of 220 KV Power System transmission Network lines,66 KV Lines and Grids there on feeding the Ludhiana City and surrounding areas under Central Zone,Ludhiana regarding various capital works in progress including deloading, of 220 KV Gausgarh Sub-Station by connecting 220 KV Ladowal - Gausgarh line.

Also, he stressed BBMB Officers present to expidite the work of Augmentation of 220/66 KV transformer 160 MVA at BBMB Jamalpur before paddy 2021,so that the industrial consumers feeding from 66 KV Chandigarh road S/S and other High end 66 KV industrial consumers of Industry Focal Point Ludhiana to whom the load is restricted at present.

Shri. A. Venu Prasad IAS also directed the officers to ensure that the repair/maintenance works of transmission lines/grids, sub-stations and transformers would be completed at the earliest. He said that the overloaded transformers supplying power to tubewells should be de-loaded in advance without any delay before the ensuing paddy season to facilitate consumers in rural areas so that smooth power supply could be ensured to consumers especially the farmers. 

He added that the directions had already been issued to field officers to complete the developmental works by January 15, 2021 to solve the problems about of transmission lines/transformers and tree cuttings well in time.

CMD also highlighted that during VDS scheme for AP consumers the over loaded transformers would be augmented before the December 31, 2020, so that the percentage of damaged transformers could be reduced.

CMD,PSPCL also directed Chief Engineer/Stores & Workshop, PSPCL, Ludhiana to ensure every material required for the consumer services for purpose of connections, maintenance and breakdowns.

Along appealing the consumers to deposit their electricity bills well in time, the CMD also directed the officers to expedite the recovery of arrears of bills from erring consumers since PSPCL is a commercial organization, which requires financial resources on day to day basis for providing reliable and uninterrupted electricity to 96 lakhs consumers in the state.

He also appealed the consumers to help department in curbing the menace of power theft. He asked consumers to report about the power theft to the department and ensured that the name of complainant will be kept confidential. 

Er. Bhupinder Khosla, Chief Engineer Distribution Central Ludhiana said that his team will comply with the directions to meet the aim of the State Power Utilities of providing reliable and uninterrupted supply to the consumers.

Er. Davinder Kumar Shardha, Chief Engineer P&M (Transco), Er. S.S Joshan, Chief Engineer P&M (Powercom); Er. Ashok Kumar Sabarwal, Chief Engineer, Store & Workshop, ASE /BBMB, All SEs of Powercom & Trasnco under Central Zone Ludhiana were also present.
