Projects done in the month of May by Inner Wheel Club of Jalandhar

Jalandhar, May 29, 2025: Under the Presidentship of Punam Jagota, Inner Wheel Club of Jalandhar carried out meaningful service projects focused on uplifting the underprivileged and supporting various community needs. Rations, clothes, and cash assistance were provided to needy families and individuals facing severe financial hardship. Medical support was extended to women, including one who underwent a total abdominal hysterectomy and a pregnant woman requiring care, as well as to a man who needed help purchasing medicines for his hospitalized daughter. To promote education and encourage young talent, two bicycles were donated to school-going boys, and a racing cycle was given to a boy aspiring to pursue cycling professionally. The club also supported the weddings of two underprivileged girls by contributing clothes, utensils, jewellery, bed linen, cash, and other essentials. At Tyag Murti Vidya Mandir School, toys and sweets were distributed, and a health awareness session on Cervical Cancer was conducted by Dr. Harjinder Kaur, who motivated senior girl students to get vaccinated. Financial help was provided towards the purchase of a truck for transporting injured animals to shelters or hospitals. Additionally, students from Chanan Vocational and Skill Training Centre were taken on an enjoyable outing with games and snacks. The club also donated an air cooler to The Summer Hub, a school for children from slum areas, to improve classroom comfort. Support was given to a needy woman for constructing her house. In an effort to enhance the environment and community wellness, 80 trees and plants were planted in a public park, where club member Nimmi Chaudhary has also started conducting daily yoga classes. Club Organised a Medical Camp at Paul Multi Speciality Hospital whear Dr.Sunita Paul delivered a talk on Cervical Cancer and how to prevent it and motivated girls and ladies for HPV vaccination.
These diverse initiatives highlight the club’s strong commitment to healthcare, education, women’s empowerment, environmental sustainability, and animal welfare.
