Prof. Jagjit Kaur Memorial Kala Utsav 2025 Organized at GGNIMT
Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi, Ludhiana, organized Prof. Jagjit Kaur Memorial Kala Utsav 2025 at its campus under aegis of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council (GKEC), Ludhiana. The event aimed to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Punjab and to promote young talent in the field of music and dance.

Ludhiana, October 15, 2025: Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi, Ludhiana, organized Prof. Jagjit Kaur Memorial Kala Utsav 2025 at its campus under aegis of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council (GKEC), Ludhiana. The event aimed to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Punjab and to promote young talent in the field of music and dance.
The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Gurbhajan Singh, Chairman, Lok Virasat Academy, Ludhiana, and Prof. Rashmi Nanda, Former Professor of Dance, Government College for Women, Amritsar. The event featured mesmerizing performances including Light Music Vocal, Classical Dance, and Folk Orchestra by talented students from various institutions.
While addressing the gathering, Prof. Gurbhajan Singh appreciated the efforts of GGNIMT for keeping art and culture alive among youth. He remarked, “Art and music are powerful media that connect generations and preserve our cultural identity. Such festivals inspire students to remain rooted in their traditions while pursuing modern education.”
Prof. Rashmi Nanda expressed her delight at witnessing young artists performing classical and folk forms with grace. She said, “Kala Utsav provides a wonderful platform for students to showcase their talent and understand the essence of Indian performing arts. It’s heartening to see an institute blending academics with aesthetics so beautifully.”
During Prize Distribution Ceremony Prof. Gurbhajan Singh lauded the efforts of the institute in promoting art and education together. In his address, he stated, “Punjab has always been a land of culture and creativity. I congratulate GGNIMT for nurturing young talent and for organizing such a meaningful event in memory of Prof. Jagjit Kaur.”
Dr. S.P. Singh, President, GKEC, appreciated the organizing committee for carrying forward the vision of Prof Jagjit Kaur who was a renowned teacher of music and who served generations of students form imbibing music. He added that Gujranwala institutions have always believed in holistic education that balances intellect with creativity.
Harsharan Singh Narula, Hon. General Secretary, GKEC, mentioned that events like Kala Utsav bring vibrancy to campus life and strengthen the bond between tradition and innovation.
Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT, congratulated all participants and faculty members for their efforts, saying, “Such events reflect the institute’s commitment to nurturing not only professionals but also culturally enriched individuals.”
