Presentation on Smart City being given by Mr K K Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar on Thursday.
Jalandhar, October 15, 2015: The Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar Mr.K.K.Yadav, had a two hour long interaction with the staff and students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar in order to spread awareness about the concept of Jalandhar as a Smart City by 2035.
Mr.Yadav was warmly welcomed by Dr.Sucharita, Principal of the College who lauded the futuristic vision behind this project and said it is an honour that Jalandhar features amongst the top 100 cities selected to be developed as smart cities.
Mr.Yadav shared with the audience that it is a golden opportunity for all of them to have a say in the manner in which the city needs to shape and improve. He asked everyone to highlight their concerns in the feedback forms whether they were regarding inefficient garbage disposal, inadequate parking spaces, neglected pedestrian crossings, need for cycling tracks or public toilets or public transport etc. He said that now the city would be competing to be amongst the 20 cities which will be funded and developed by the Central Government as Smart Cities in the first stage of Smart City Project.
