Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has started preparation to only allow ‘sticker-only’ vehicles to the PU campus from next academic session.

Chandigarh, 15 May 2025: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has started preparation to only allow ‘sticker-only’ vehicles to the PU campus from next academic session.
The issue was discussed at the Chairpersons Meeting of PU. PU Vice Chancellor Prof Renu Vig presided over the meeting. PU Dean University Instructions (DUI) Prof Yojna Rawat, PU FDO Dr. Vikram Nayyar, officers, Chairpersons/ Directors/ Coordinators of various Teaching Departments/ Institutions and many Campus Deans participated in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, the PU Vice Chancellor Prof Renu Vig informed that the QR coded stickers will be issued to the faculty staff and students so that no misuse or copying can be done by anyone. She asked the department to submit the vehicle data of existing students, faculty and staff members so that the advance preparation for its implementation may be started.
Prof. Vig called upon the departments to give academic orientation to the fresher party and farewell. She urged the departments to involve seniors, experts and better mentor-mentee relationship to motivate the new students. She said that regular counseling is required in resolving the students problems and guiding them to become responsible citizens. She also pressed for more academic and extracurricular activities for the students.
Prof. Vig also motivated the departments to prepare plans for next semesters in advance. She advised the departments to involve the bright students from schools and colleges and encourage them to visit PU campus so that they could know about the facilities and career opportunities. She also emphasised for regular submission and verification of data by IQAC.
Prof. Sanjeev Sharma gave a presentation on Institutional Development Plan (IDP) 2025. IDP 2025 was discussed in detail and departments have been requested to give their feedback.
Adoption of e-Samarth for admission was also discussed. CDOE will be doing admissions through e-Samarth this session.
DUI, Prof. Yojna Rawat and FDO Dr. Vikram Nayyar also addressed the Chairpersons.
