PPCB announces power presses in exempted category

Ludhiana, August 28, 2016: A joint meeting of PPCB (Punjab Pollution Control Board) and the industry leaders held here on Sunday. It was held on the direction of Deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal. In this meeting, a major relief was announced for the industry. The power press industry was exempted from the consent from PPCB. Now, power presses will come into the white category.
On orders of Manpreet Singh Chatwal, Chairman, PPCB, meeting was held in premises of United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association, which was presided by Lalit Sharma, Director PPCB along with Karunesh Garg Chief Engineer, Samarjit Goel S.E, Paramjit singh SEE and including UCPMA president Charanjit Singh Vishkarma, Manjit Singh Khalsa (Spokesman), Rajeev Jain (Gen. Secretary), Rajinder Singh Sarhali (Director LETS), Satnam.S. Makkar(Jt. Secretary),Rajinder Singh (secretary), AvtarSingh Bhogal, Ajit Singla, Kulwinder Singh Benipal.
The industry explained to the officers of the department that the power presses are pollution free and are even being used by the micro industry . The officers of the board were satisfied with the working of the power presses and agreed to exempt them from consent from PPCB.
Discussion regarding other issues like Generator Sets, Moulding, Die casting, Garment washing, Rubber industry and other problems were discussed. It was also discussed that getting consent should be made more simpler. Regarding Fee on DG sets president of the UCPMA proposed that fee should be on the value of the D.G sets and not on the whole value of plot and machinery. It was also proposed that D.G sets used in White & Green category should be exempted from Consents. Officials have assured to consider the proposal.
Majit Singh Khalsa thanked the official for the one to one meeting with industry and on behalf of UCPMA thanked Sukhbir Singh Badal Dy. C.M, and Maheshinder Singh Grewal(Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab) for the relief to the industry. This will boost the morale of the industry and people will come forward to make Punjab as number one state in India.
