Police claim to solve dacoity occurred at Preet Vihar, Kacha Malak road Jagraon on June 5

Jagraon, June 13, 2017: While addressing a press conference, Sh.Arpit Shukla, IPS, IGP/Zone-2, Jallandhar and Sh.Yurinder Singh Hayer, IPS, DIG/ Ludhiana Range/Ludhiana told that Sh.Surjeet Singh, IPS, SSP Ludhiana (Rural) formed a Special Investigation Team(SIT) comprising Sh.Satnam Singh PPS,DSP(Inv), Sh Kanwarpal Singh PPS DSP Jgn.Insp.Lakhvir Singh I/C CIA Jgn.and Insp Inderjit Singh SHO P.S City Jagraon, headed by Sh.Mandeep Singh, PPS, SP(Hqrs), Ludhiana(Rural) to investigate on dacoity incident that occurred on June 5 this year at Preet Vihar, Kacha Malak road Jagraon. In this incident six person entered the house of Sh.Jatinder Berri s/o Ram Raspal Berri where his two daughters Mahak aged 15 years and Himani aged 10 years were over powered and handcuffed. After threatening, they were forced to disclose the whereabouts of cash and Jewelry and thereby broke open the locks of almirahs with rods and decamped with the about 20 lacs. An FIR No.181 u/s 395/342/506 IPC PS City Jagraon was registered against six unknown persons. A massive manhunt was launched by the SSP Sh.Surjeet Singh, IPS and his team with efficient & professional approach towards early detection. The police arrested four accused namely Maniderdip Singh @ Lovely s/o Gurpreet Singh r/o Moga, Manni Singh s/o Charanjit Singh, Varinder Singh s/o Kartar Singh, Sukha Singh @ Gora s/o Satnam Singh r/o Jagraon in this case within the span of five days and recovered 4Lakhs cash, two mobiles worth Rs. 86000, two motor-cycles PB-29T-5790, PB-10FY-2135, sharp edged weapons and iron rods which were used in crime.
During interrogation, they confessed that few days back a recce of the place was made, there after they rented a room at Moga, on the day of incident they all arrived at the rented room and from where they travelled on two Motor Cycles to execute the loot, their other accomplices were already in Jagraon to watch house and Shop of the complainant . Further interrogation of the accused could lead to more disclosures. Four accused have been arrested and remaining six would soon be behind the bars.
Further, the IGP told that as per directions issued by the Chief Minister of Punjab and the Director General of Police, Sh.Surjeet Singh, IPS, SSP, Ludhiana(Rural) launched a special campaign against drug peddlers, anti social elements and also to crack the nexus of drug suppliers. During this campaign two Nigerian Citizens named Austin and Edeh Sunday were arrested with recovery of 2 Kg Heroin for which FIR No, 129 and 130 dated May 17, 2017 U/S 21/61/85 NDPS Act P.S Dakha was registered. During interrogation, they confessed their involvement for supply of drugs in different parts of Punjab and also disclosed the name of their co-member Felix Adewloe S/O Adewole r/o Inrudlagos Nigeria now resident of Sant Nagar New Delhi presently in Amritsar Jail. The team brought Felix Adewloe on production warrant and interrogated. He confessed that he is in touch with his co-members for search of drug clients in Punjab and deliver the consignment as required. He further admitted that some time back 01 Kg Heroin was brought from Delhi and the same has been buried under registered tree No.80 near G.T road Fly Over of Pabbian Sohian but could not be delivered further. On basis of his confession, 01 Kg Heroin was recovered from the said place and a FIR No. 158 dated June 12, 2017 U/S 21/61/85 NDPS Act P.S Dakha was registered. Further investigation is in progress and more disclosures are likely to be made. Accused Felix was running the racket while sitting in jail and was in constant touch with the smugglers in Delhi who have been actively supplying drugs in Punjab.
The IGP told that Jagraon Police with their dedication and ability to work, cracked the supply line for drugs in Punjab thus curbing drug menace and also committed to nab the remaining culprits of above said incident at the earliest.
