To mark the significance of International Museum Day 2025, meaningful pictorial work highlighting the Three significant Museums of Ludhiana was today unveiled by Agriculture Minister Punjab Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Chief Secretary, Punjab K.A.P. Sinha, IAS, along with Vice Chancellor, Punjab Agricultural University Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal , State Information Commissioner Punjab Harpreet Sandhu, Vice Chancellor GADVASU Dr J S. Gill , Principal Secretary Horticulture Vikas, during an event held in Sutton House PAU, Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, May 18, 2025: To mark the significance of International Museum Day 2025, meaningful pictorial work highlighting the Three significant Museums of Ludhiana was today unveiled by Agriculture Minister Punjab Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Chief Secretary, Punjab K.A.P. Sinha, IAS, along with Vice Chancellor, Punjab Agricultural University Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal , State Information Commissioner Punjab Harpreet Sandhu, Vice Chancellor GADVASU Dr J S. Gill , Principal Secretary Horticulture Vikas, during an event held in Sutton House PAU, Ludhiana. 

This artistic endeavor beautifully portrays the architectural splendor of three significant museums of District Ludhiana.
Ludhiana is fortunate enough to host three significant Museums i.e. Museum of Social History of Rural Punjab, PAU Ludhiana depicting rural lifestyle, traditions, and tools intrinsic to Punjab’s agrarian identity, Bassian Kothi near Raikot, a 200-year-old architectural marvel showcasing rare belongings of Maharaja Duleep Singh, the last Sikh ruler of Punjab and Maharaja Ranjit Singh War Museum, Ludhiana preserving war history through its thematic galleries, antique weaponry, armoured vehicles, and vintage fighter aircraft. This initiative has been undertaken as a noble gesture by State Information Commissioner Punjab Harpreet Sandhu who through his passionate art work aims to promote these museums and raise awareness about Punjab’s glorious past among citizens of Ludhiana, especially the younger generation.

While unveiling the pictorial visuals Chief Secretary, Punjab K.A.P. Sinha, IAS, stated that the objective of International Museum Day is to raise awareness about the importance of museums as a means of cultural exchange and development of mutual understanding on the heritage, the pictorial work is a commendable step initiated by State Information Commissioner Punjab Harpreet Sandhu.

Cabinet Minister Punjab Gurmeet Singh Khuddian said that it is of immense interest to witness the exquisite pictorial work meticulously crafted by Harpreet Sandhu offering a creative representation of three significant Museums of Ludhiana, which will definitely inspire future generations to stay connected with their roots. 

Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice Chancellor, PAU Ludhiana, acknowledged the commendable pictorial work initiated by State Information Commissioner Punjab Harpreet Sandhu, which is a befitting message for the society that history can only be kept alive if we preserve our historical monuments, which are the glue that bind one generation with another".

State Information Commissioner Punjab Harpreet Sandhu said that it’s important to acknowledge theme of Museum Day 2025 “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities” as one feels elated while visiting a museum and witnessing things dating back to hundreds of years and learning the rich cultural heritage.
