PG Department of Computer Science & IT concludes ‘IT Spark’ in Lyallpur Khalsa College

The two-day event aims to inspire students and kindle their passion for knowledge, technology, and creative thinking.

Jalandhar, February 18, 2026: In a commendable initiative to promote creativity, innovation, and healthy competition, the PG Department of Computer Science & IT at Lyallpur Khalsa College organized ‘IT-SPARK’, its annual intra-departmental IT competition. The two-day event aims to inspire students and kindle their passion for knowledge, technology, and creative thinking.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, Principal, who, along with Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand, HOD, and other senior faculty members, marked the occasion with the ceremonial lamp lighting. In his address, Dr. Rashpal Singh declared the event open, conveyed his best wishes to the participants, and highlighted the importance of such competitions in fostering students’ overall personality development. Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand emphasized their role in enhancing technical, problem-solving, and soft skills to prepare students for future challenges.
The event featured a diverse range of 17 competitions such as Think in Slides, Brain Wars, Toons Mania, and Photo2Phrase. A total of 206 teams registered across the competitions, with 381 participants in total, making IT-SPARK a grand success. The students exhibited extraordinary enthusiasm and passion, impressing the audience with their energetic performances and innovative solutions. The competitions were a blend of technical expertise, creative flair, and knowledge, setting the stage on fire with exceptional performances that reflected hard work and dedication.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony. Paridhi from BCA Sem-IV received the overall trophy, while Hadif Qayoom (BCA Sem-II) and Baltej Singh (BCA Sem-IV) were declared runners-up of the event. Winners and runners-up of various competitions were felicitated with medals and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performances. The Principal and the Head of the Department congratulated the achievers and appreciated the efforts of all participants for making IT-SPARK a memorable and successful event.
During the event, Dr. Harjit Singh, HOD Mathematics, and Dr. Jaswant Kaur were also present. The event was coordinated by Prof. Mandeep Singh Bhatia. The occasion was further witnessed by Prof. Sandeep Bassi, Dr. Sandeep Singh, Dr. Manpreet Singh Lehal, Prof. Ratnakar Mann, Prof. Daljit Kaur, Prof. Navneet Kaur, and other staff members of the department. Prof. Mandeep Singh Bhatia delivered the vote of thanks, while the stage was managed by Dr. Daljit Kaur.
