PCTE Marks World Pharmacist Day with Three Days of Innovation, Learning & Community Care
The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at PCTE Group of Institutes marked World Pharmacist Day 2025 with a vibrant three-day celebration from September 23 to 25, highlighting the pivotal role of pharmacists in healthcare, education, and community service.
Ludhiana, September 25, 2025: The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at PCTE Group of Institutes marked World Pharmacist Day 2025 with a vibrant three-day celebration from September 23 to 25, highlighting the pivotal role of pharmacists in healthcare, education, and community service.
The celebrations commenced on September 23 with an inaugural ceremony attended by Sanjiv Verma, CEO of Velite Healthcare, and Shail Vinayak, CEO of Nanotech Chem Brother Pvt. Ltd., as Guests of Honour. A panel discussion on “Reshaping Pharmacy Education: NEP 2020 and the New B.Pharm Syllabus” brought together principals from CT University, GNA University, GGN Khalsa College of Pharmacy, and Baba Farid College of Pharmacy, sharing insights on the evolving landscape of pharmaceutical education.
The inaugural day also saw the launch of “Herbal Hub A Taste of Health, Powered by Herbs”, an exhibition showcasing the benefits and potential of medicinal plants. Adding solemnity to the occasion, the Pharmacist Oath was administered to all present. Seema Thakur said, “This oath is a reflection of our commitment to ethics, service, and patient care,” and invited everyone to rise and recite it together.
An expert session by Somaya Dutt, Plant Head at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Nalagarh, focused on plant operations, regulatory compliance, lean manufacturing, and sustainable growth in the pharmaceutical sector, inspiring students to integrate innovation with professional excellence.
On September 24, the CSR Club of PCTE, in collaboration with Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana, organized a free medical check-up camp for students, staff, and local residents, reinforcing the institute’s commitment to community well-being.
The celebrations also included a series of inter- and intra-college competitions such as Pharma Quiz, Picto, Dumb Charades, Reel Making, Drug Story Board, and Drug Antaakshri, offering students a platform to blend knowledge with creativity and teamwork.
The three-day programme concluded with a valedictory ceremony and prize distribution. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Puneet Utreja, Director-cum-Principal, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, remarked, “World Pharmacist Day is a reminder of the crucial role pharmacists play in healthcare. At PCTE, we are committed to shaping professionals who combine knowledge with innovation to serve society.”
Through these celebrations, PCTE reaffirmed its dedication to excellence in pharmaceutical education and to nurturing the next generation of pharmacists equipped to contribute meaningfully to healthcare, innovation, and community service.
