Ludhiana, February 11, 2026: PCTE  Ludhiana, in association with The Economic Times – ET in Campus, organised a Post-Budget Analysis Session to help students and faculty understand the key highlights of the Union Budget 2026 and its long-term impact on India’s growth journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.
The expert panel comprised CA Kumar Gaurav, Commissioner, Central GST; Parmesh Jindal, Zonal Manager, Punjab National Bank, Ludhiana; Abhineet Shukla, CFO, Hero Steel, Nitin Shahi, Executive Director, Findoc; and Rakesh Sukhija, Chief Manager, The Times of India. The speakers shared insights on taxation reforms, industry outlook, banking sector developments and career opportunities for young professionals.
CA Kumar Gaurav spoke on Viksit Bharat 2047, highlighting the reduction in fiscal deficit, the debt-to-GDP target and extension of income tax dates. He said the budget focuses on sustainable growth with support to construction and key manufacturing sectors such as semiconductors, textiles and industrial clusters.
Nitin Shahi described the budget as structurally focused for the financial services sector, stating that the increase in STT on derivatives aims to curb excessive speculation. He added that earlier income tax relief, GST cuts before Diwali and support for AI and data centres will boost long-term growth.
Parmesh Jindal highlighted faster loan approvals, strengthening of the GeM portal and expanded trade ties with the EU ,US, New Zealand and Oman, while noting that banking compliance remains a challenge.
Harpreet K Kang, Dean, International Affairs, PCTE Group of Institutes, said that such expert-led sessions are important to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world developments. She added that exposure to policy discussions helps students understand how national decisions impact business, industry and career opportunities. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer round, giving students clearer insight into how the budget impacts industry, banking and future career opportunities.
