PCTE Institute of Engineering and Technology Hosted Hackathon 3.0 and Athena 2025 – Showcasing Talent, Innovation, and Collaboration

Ludhiana, March 28, 2025: PCTE Institute of Engineering and Technology hosted two remarkable events that showcased the power of innovation and collaboration—Hackathon 3.0 and Athena 2025. Hackathon 3.0, a 24-hour coding marathon, that brought together over 36 teams from various colleges, where participants competed to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges, with a cash prize of ₹20,000 up for grabs. The atmosphere was charged with excitement and determination as these bright minds push their boundaries and network with like-minded individuals. On the other hand, Athena 2025 featured a wide range of engaging technical and non-technical events, attracted participation from around 38 colleges. Both events were set to highlighted academic excellence, creativity, and collaboration, providing a platform for students to showcase their talents and leave a lasting impact on the tech landscape.
On March 28, 2025, Athena 2025 kicked off with a series of 10 exciting competitive events, bringing together participants from 38 prestigious colleges. The event was inaugurated by Akhil Gupta, CEO of Kukis, and Sachin Arora, CEO of Vidya Wings. Gupta highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship, critical thinking, and problem-solving in creating meaningful societal change. Arora encouraged students to maximize their time at the institute and serve as mentors to future batches.
The fest was supported by several esteemed sponsors, including Auribises, Digimantra, Iotasol, Cliffguard, Technotykes, and Oceanclouds. With more than 150 students participating in the event, the competition featured a variety of events ranging from Ctrl+Alt+Del-icious, a coding challenge, to Tech Roast Battle, a humorous critique of tech trends. The events also included Web-Wrangling Wild West, a website development competition, Gaming Gladiator, a LAN gaming tournament, and Meme-ify the Moment, a meme creation contest, among others.
In addition to Athena 2025, the Hackathon 3.0 held on March 27, 2025, was a resounding success, with over 150 students who were challenged to develop functional websites based on four case studies. The event attracted teams from leading institutions such as Chitkara University, GNA University, Punjab Engineering College, Lovely Professional University, and Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College. The competition tested participants' coding skills, innovative thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
A distinguished panel of judges from Digimantra, Auribises, and Iotasol provided mentorship and invaluable feedback to the participants, helping them enhance their skills while guiding them towards better technical solutions. The hackathon not only provided a platform for students to showcase their coding talents but also facilitated networking with industry experts, further enhancing the learning experience for all involved.
For the second round, 25 students advanced to compete for the top three prizes, with the first place winner taking home ₹10,000, the second-place winner receiving ₹5,000, and the third-place winner awarded ₹2,500. The panel of external judges carefully selected the winners based on criteria such as creativity, functionality, and execution.
The winners of various activities at Hackathon 3.0 and Athena 2025 hail from prestigious institutions such as Guru Nanak Polytechnic College, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, GGI, and Gulzar Group of Institution. Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College clinched the overall prize .
Both Athena 2025 and Hackathon 3.0 successfully brought together the best young minds in the region, creating a vibrant atmosphere of innovation, collaboration, and competition. These events served as a perfect platform for students to test their abilities, push their limits, and connect with peers and mentors in the technology industry.
