MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia stated that the creation and enrichment of knowledge, as well as societal progress, are impossible without research. Today, subjects such as DNA, genome sequencing, aging populations, and environmental conservation are at the forefront of global research. Solutions to these challenges can only be found through innovation-driven, high-quality research.
Rohtak, July 6, 2026: MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia stated that the creation and enrichment of knowledge, as well as societal progress, are impossible without research. Today, subjects such as DNA, genome sequencing, aging populations, and environmental conservation are at the forefront of global research. Solutions to these challenges can only be found through innovation-driven, high-quality research.
Presiding over the inaugural session of a five-day national workshop titled "Frontiers in Biochemical Research" at MDU’s Department of Biochemistry on Monday, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia urged young research scholars to look beyond the confines of traditional disciplines and embrace interdisciplinary research. Scientific temper, critical thinking, and innovation will define the future of research. He called for linking research to improving the quality of human life, building a healthy society, and conserving the Earth.
Speaking as the guest of honor, Prof. Deepak Mishra from the Department of Life Sciences at JNU, emphasized that scientific curiosity, the effective use of modern technologies, and original thinking are essential for excellence in research. He encouraged researchers to strive for global standards of quality in their work.
Dean (Academic Affairs) Prof. A.S. Maan, Deputy Dean (R&D) Prof. K.K. Sharma, and Director IQAC Prof. B. Narasimhan remarked that universities can scale new heights in research by fostering a culture of multidisciplinary research, institutional collaboration, and innovation.
At the outset, Head of Department Prof. Narsingh Chauhan delivered the welcome address. Prof. Ritu Pasrija outlined the workshop's agenda, and Prof. Vijay Kumar proposed the vote of thanks. The Vice-Chancellor also released the workshop's souvenir during the event.
