PCTE Hosts 4th National Conference on Indian Knowledge Systems – Gurukul 2.0: Integrating Ancient Learning with Modern Technology
The PCTE, Ludhiana hosted the 4th National Conference on Indian Knowledge Systems – Gurukul 2.0, focusing on integrating India’s ancient wisdom with modern education and technology. The event brought together academicians, researchers, and thought leaders from across the country to explore how traditional knowledge can enrich contemporary learning.

Ludhiana, October 11, 2025: The PCTE, Ludhiana hosted the 4th National Conference on Indian Knowledge Systems – Gurukul 2.0, focusing on integrating India’s ancient wisdom with modern education and technology. The event brought together academicians, researchers, and thought leaders from across the country to explore how traditional knowledge can enrich contemporary learning.
The conference began with a lamp-lighting ceremony in the presence of Chief Guest Mr. Ajay Bector, Whole-Time Director, Cremica Food Specialities Ltd., and keynote speakers Dr. Partha Roy from IIT Roorkee, Dr. Shivani Sharma from Panjab University, and Dr. Khushdeep Kaur from Khalsa College for Women.
Dr. Partha Roy presented on “Traditional Use of Honey for a Healthy Gut,” explaining how honey (madhu in Ayurveda) has long been used to treat gastrointestinal and other disorders. His research highlighted that Indian honey varieties like eucalyptus, litchi, tulsi, and mustard possess anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and anti-diabetic properties, reaffirming the scientific relevance of traditional remedies.
Dr. K. N. S. Kang, Director General, PCTE, emphasized the importance of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) in promoting ethics, sustainability, and holistic development. The event also saw the release of the Conference Abstract Book, featuring scholarly papers linking ancient philosophies with modern research.
The conference concluded with Dr. Harmeet Singh, Director (Research), PCTE, thanking all participants and reaffirming the institution’s commitment to harmonizing ancient wisdom with modern innovation.
