PCTE Group of Institutes organised Dawat-E-Hindustan

Ludhiana, September 22, 2021: PCTE Faculty of Hotel Management in collaboration with Lodhi Club organised Dawat-E- Hindustan, a first of a kind of food festival that focused on different styles of Gharana Biryanis. The students catered to nearly 500 people and displayed nearly 20 Dishes including Biryanis, Kababs, Gravies and starters.

 

The event of Dawat-E-Hindustan displayed 12 different styles of biryanis, kababs and gravies served to the people of Ludhiana. Some of the Dishes Biryanis including Wajid Ali Shah’s Kolkata Biryani, Macher Paturi- a dish in which fish is wrapped in banana leaves and is marinated in coconut and later is steamed. People also enjoyed Hyderabadi Prawns Biryani, Rampuri Mutton Biryani- a dish cooked entirely in stock, Vegetarian Lucknow’s, sofiyani biryani. Apart from this the students cooked and served Kababs like Galouti Kabab, Tunde Kabab and Starters like purani delhi chicken tikka, malai tikka.

 

Mr. Anirban Gupta, Dean, PCTE IHM said that involving students in such activities provides them exposure to the culinary world where during the preparation of the dishes the students learned different styles of cooking and had a glimpse of the history behind those dishes in a practical way.

 

Dr. KNS Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes said that PCTE has always provided students with practical exposure be it in any stream, giving the students the exposure of the outside world has always been a part of PCTE's educational program.
