The third day of 'Sarang' and 'Bharangam' at DLC SUPVA; A Perfect Blend of Theatre, Melody, Rhythm, Beat, and Poetry

The third day of the world's largest theatre festival, Bharat Rang Mahotsav (Bharangam), as well as the university's own festival, 'SARANG' being held at Dada Laxmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), Rohtak, was dedicated to theatre, melody, rhythm, beat, and poetry. Various musical performances on the stage of the Sarang captivated the audiences on Wednesday.

Rohtak, February 11, 2026: The third day of the world's largest theatre festival, Bharat Rang Mahotsav (Bharangam), as well as the university's own festival, 'SARANG' being held at Dada Laxmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), Rohtak, was dedicated to theatre, melody, rhythm, beat, and poetry. Various musical performances on the stage of the Sarang captivated the audiences on Wednesday. 

DGP (Prisons) Alok Mittal, Vice Chancellor of CRSU Jind Prof. Ram Pal Saini, Actor Pankaj Beri, Actress Sumitra Hooda Pednekar (mother of actress Bhumi Pednekar), Actor Sunil Chitkara, Haryanvi artist and former Director of Youth Welfare MDU Dr. Jagbir Rathi, Narendra Sharma from the Haryana Kala Parishad, and Haryanvi singer Masoom Sharma attended the 'Sarang' Festival. Vice Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya and Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha welcomed the guests.

 

A series of cultural performances by current and former students of the university continued throughout the day on the stage of 'Sarang'. Students presented ghazals, music bands, classical dance Bharatnatyam, and poetry recitations. Vice Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya and Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha honored theater artists from across the state.

 

Dr. Jagbir Rathi made the students and audience laugh with his jokes. He said that DLC SUPVA marks the beginning of a grand yajna for art and culture in Haryana. It will work to reshape the art and culture in Haryana in the coming times. He added that the university has created a conducive environment by providing better facilities to students associated with film, theater, art, and design.

 

Vice Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya said that the university administration is constantly striving to provide students with the best possible education and other facilities. With government support, every effort is being made to make the university a leading institution in its field. A comprehensive roadmap has been prepared for the same. National events like 'Bharangam' and the 'Sarang' Festival, held for the first time on the university campus, are part of this initiative. Even bigger and more spectacular events will be held in the future.

 

 In an expert dialogue session, Sumitra Hooda Pednekar, the first actress from Haryana, actor Pankaj Beri, and Haryanvi singer Masoom Sharma interacted with students and the audience. Actress Sumitra Hooda Pednekar shared her experiences of struggle, saying that in her time, reaching this position as a girl from Haryana was a big deal, but today the environment has changed significantly. Inspiring students to continue their good work, she said that she had seen DLC SUPVA in a precarious position, but the able guidance of Vice Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya has given this institution a new lease of life.

 

Actor Pankaj Beri said he wasn't aware that Haryana had an institute called SUPVA, which also houses a film department and provides all kinds of filmmaking training under one roof. He said that this institute is an opportunity for Haryana's talent and youth, and they should make best use of it. Haryanvi singer and DLC SUPVA alumnus Masoom Sharma presented excerpts from his song.

 

Vice Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya stated that the 'Sarang' Festival will conclude on Thursday. On the final day of the ‘Sarang’ Festival, a traditional classical dance performance from Assam will be presented, along with a band performance from Delhi. Additionally, a dialogue session will be held with distinguished guests.
