Jalandhar, November 29, 2025: The Department of Political Science of PCM S.D. Collegiate Senior Secondary School for Women, Jalandhar, celebrated Constitution Day with great enthusiasm.

To mark the occasion, an Essay Writing Competition and Collective Reading of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution were organized.

The programme began with the collective reading of the Preamble rooted in civic awareness through which students pledged to uphold the values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity as enshrined in the Constitution. This was followed by the Essay Writing Competition, where students of expressed their thoughts on the significance of the Constitution, and the role of youth in strengthening democracy. A large number of students participated with great interest and showcased their knowledge and writing skills.

Among the participants, Tanu and Bhavya (Class XII) secured first prize, followed by Vanshika and Sakshi (Class XII) who won second and third prizes respectively. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar and Mrs. Sushma Sharma, Incharge of the Collegiate Block, appreciated the sincere efforts of all the students. Monica, Ruhi, Jaswinder Kaur and Nitika were also present there.

President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the Managing Committee, and Principal Dr Pooja Prashar applauded the efforts of the department for successfully organising the event.
