PCM S.D. College for Women Marks 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour
In a vibrant display of patriotism and national pride, the NCC Army Wing and the Central Association of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. The occasion paid tribute to the indomitable spirit and sacrifices of the freedom fighters who gifted the nation its liberty. The celebration was graced by the Chief Guest, Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar.

Jalandhar, August 15, 2026: In a vibrant display of patriotism and national pride, the NCC Army Wing and the Central Association of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. The occasion paid tribute to the indomitable spirit and sacrifices of the freedom fighters who gifted the nation its liberty. The celebration was graced by the Chief Guest, Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar.
The celebration commenced with the ceremonial pinning of badges on the Chief Guest, Dr. Pooja Prashar, and the faculty members, symbolising honour, responsibility and commitment towards the nation. This was followed by the solemn hoisting of the National Flag. The NCC cadets then presented an impressive march past and offered a smart salute to the National Flag, filling the atmosphere with pride and patriotic fervour.
Adding to the patriotic spirit of the occasion, the Music Department presented a soulful patriotic song, which evoked a deep sense of love and pride for the nation among everyone present.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar delivered an inspiring message, urging the students to uphold the ideals of freedom, responsibility and nation-building. She highlighted the continued significance of independence in shaping the nation's destiny and emphasised that the true progress of a country rests on quality education, the well-being of its citizens and strong democratic values.
The celebration served as a reminder of the collective responsibility of every citizen to safeguard the principles of democracy, unity, integrity and diversity, while contributing meaningfully to the progress of the nation.
