PCM S.D. College for Women Conducts Mock Drill on Air Strike Preparedness in Collaboration with NCC and NSS Units
PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, in collaboration with its NCC and NSS Units, conducted a mock drill on air strike and blackout preparedness to spread awareness about civil defence and emergency response. The activity was conducted as per the instructions of the Director General NCC and under the guidance of Brigadier Ajay Tiwari, Commander, Jalandhar Group, and Colonel Maninder Singh Sachdeva, Commanding Officer, 2 Punjab Girls Battalion.

Jalandhar, May 7, 2025: PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, in collaboration with its NCC and NSS Units, conducted a mock drill on air strike and blackout preparedness to spread awareness about civil defence and emergency response. The activity was conducted as per the instructions of the Director General NCC and under the guidance of Brigadier Ajay Tiwari, Commander, Jalandhar Group, and Colonel Maninder Singh Sachdeva, Commanding Officer, 2 Punjab Girls Battalion.
The objective of the drill was to acquaint students with safety protocols during air raids and blackout situations. NCC cadets led the initiative by demonstrating practical measures to be taken during an air siren. The NSS Department supported the activity by showing an informative video on mock drill preparedness, which educated students about dos and don’ts in such critical situations.
Captain Priya Mahajan, Associate NCC Officer of the college, along with PI Staff Subedar Sanjay Singh of the 2 Punjab Girls Battalion and NSS Programme Officers, supervised the drill and ensured its smooth execution. Addressing the students, Captain Priya Mahajan shed light on the relevance of Operation Sindoor, highlighting its role as a tribute by the armed forces to the victims of the Pahalgam tragedy.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff. Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar appreciated the efforts of the NCC and NSS units, stating that such preparedness exercises contribute significantly to national security by making civilians more aware and cooperative in times of crisis.
President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, and other esteemed members of the Managing Committee also applauded the initiative and extended their best wishes to the cadets and volunteers for their commendable efforts.
