Ludhiana, August 25, 2022: Ruchi Goyal, a student of the Department of Soil Science at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has brought laurels to the University by bagging the prestigious Prime Minister Fellowship for her doctoral research. The Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and a private partner M/s Punjab Irrigation & Farm Solutions, has awarded this fellowship to Ms. Goyal for four years. She will work on “Water and nitrogen movement in the basmati rice-wheat system under surface and subsurface fertigation.” She will work under the supervision of Dr.K.B. Singh, Principal Soil Physicist, Directorate of Extension Education and Dr A.S. Brar, Principal Agronomist (Water Management), Department of Agronomy, PAU, Ludhiana.

Dr.S. S.Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, Dr. SandeepBains, Dean Postgraduate Studies, and Dr. A.S.Dhatt, Director of Research, Dr. O.P. Choudhary, Head, Department of Soil Science congratulated Ruchi Goyal and her advisors and wished her success in research and future pursuits.
