PAU holds session on placement and counselling, and books distribution ceremony

The University Counselling and Placement Guidance Cell (UCPGC), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organized a session on the Placement and Counselling for the students of the College of Basic Sciences and Humanities. A book distribution ceremony was also conducted in which books related to the preparation of competitive exams, personality development and skill building were distributed among 24 students of the university.

Ludhiana, May 18, 2023: The University Counselling and Placement Guidance Cell (UCPGC), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organized a session on the Placement and Counselling for the students of the College of Basic Sciences and Humanities. A book distribution ceremony was also conducted in which books related to the preparation of competitive exams, personality development and skill building were distributed among 24 students of the university.

In her address, Dr Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Dean, College of Agriculture, said that books are said to be the best companion of a person; the current generation of the students should build a strong connection with books. Students should develop a habit of reading diverse range of books so that they can acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for being successful in their career, she added.

Dr Shammi Kapoor, Dean, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities and Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, PAU congratulated the students and lauded the activities of the University Counselling and Placement Guidance Cell. Dr Jaura added that the Directorate will be organizing more of these kinds of activities on regular intervals so that maximum university students are benefited.

A lecture on mental wellness was delivered by Dr Vandana Kanwar, Assistant Professor, wherein she shared different ways in which the students can take care of their mental health.

Dr Khushdeep Dharni, Associate Director, UCPGC, briefed the students about the activities of the Placement Cell. Dr Dharni added that the students should understand the importance of making themselves employable and actively participate in the skill building activities being organized by the Placement Cell.
