Ludhiana, June 19, 2023: The College of Horticulture and Forestry, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organized a seminar on “Power of Happiness” in collaboration with Brahmakumari Organisation, in which about 198 students and faculty members of the college participated.

In the session, Dr Himanshu Goyal, while delivering a lecture, stated that happiness was the mental and spiritual state of having a positive outlook. He expressed how negative thoughts were deteriorating physical as well as mental health. During the interaction, Dr Goyal presented a very concrete scientific proof of how the power of happiness acted as a medication for healing very deadly diseases. He encouraged and motivated the students to adopt a lifestyle that increased the positivity of the mind. He also underlined the importance of meditation and its benefits for healing our soul and body for remaining focused and happy for the whole day. He further stressed on being humble and treating the people as you want to be treated yourself.

Dr Himanshu gave two minutes of practical demonstration of meditation and emphasized the students to make the habit of starting the day with meditation and connecting with GOD for a few seconds so as to inculcate positivity of mind and achieve the goal of happiness.

Dr MIS Gill, Dean, College of Horticulture and Forestry, encouraged the students to adopt a disciplined lifestyle and shared the benefits of a happy mind in achieving the targeted goal for the ultimate happiness of life. Dr Gill presented a healthy live plant to Dr Goyal as a token of thanks.

The session was coordinated by Dr Nav Prem Singh, Professor, Department of Fruit Science, PAU. Later, he proposed a vote of thanks.
