Participation of PU at CIRF
Chandigarh, January 7, 2019: Prof.Ramanjit Kaur Johal, Chairperson & Professor, Department of Public Administration and Dr. Jagmohan Singh Raju IAS, Visiting Professor at the Department of Public Administration, Panjab University, Chandigarh participated in the Panel Discussion on Equality, Diversity and Unconscious Bias during the launch of The Cambridge India Research Foundation (CIRF) held at New Delhi by Prof.Eilis Ferron, CIRF Director and Pro-Vice Chancellor International, University of Cambridge. This well attended public event sought to start conversations on the sensitive issue of 'bias' and how it can be addressed at the organisational and individual levels. Experiences of policy and practice related to equal opportunity and affirmative action were shared by the participants from academia, educational and public administration and the media. CIRF was launched in light of Cambridge's significant engagements in collaborative research with the Indian Government and educational institutions. Also present was Dr. Miriam Lynn, Senior Equality and Diversity Consultant, HR, University of Cambridge. Dr. Gitanjali Yadav, DBT-Cambridge Lecturer conducted the event. Along with plenary talks on Equality, Diversity and Unconscious Bias there was a Panel on the theme. Prof. Johal, is also Panjab University's Principal Investigator of University of Cambridge's major research project titled "Transforming the Indian Green Revolution through Education and Empowerment"(TIGR2ESS). This UK-India Research Councils project has multiple UK and Indian institutional partners. Dr. Jagmohan Singh Raju, IAS has been invited as Visiting Fellow to the Cambridge Judge School of Business, University of Cambridge (2019-20). He has been actively engaged with the students and faculty and delivering special lectures in the Department of PU.
