The event aimed to orient the fresh batch and equip them with insights into academic excellence and career progression.
Department alumna, Dr. Sumeet Labana, Vice President (Quality) at Continuum India, delivered the keynote address on "Biochemistry in action: Skills that matter." She emphasized biochemistry's practical application in the industry and highlighted the core technical and soft skills students need to cultivate for global success.
Associate Director, Central Placement Cell, PU, Dr. Ravneet Kaur enlightened the students on diverse career options. She shared valuable information about placement opportunities, internships, and how the placement cell supports students in bridging the gap between academia and corporate careers.
Chairperson, Prof. Dipti Sareen welcomed the fresh batch and detailed the structure of the courses designed under the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Prof. Sareen focused on the flexible, interdisciplinary nature of the new curriculum and its research-centric approach.
The interactive session concluded with an open Q&A followed by a vote of thanks proposed by Coordinator Placement & Alumni Cell, Prof. A. Bhatnagar. The session enabled the newcomers to connect directly with the speakers and faculty members, marking a successful start to their academic journey at PU.
