Students participate in Panjab University (PU) NSS Camp which concluded on Thursday in Chandigarh.

 

Chandigarh, January 9, 2015: Panjab University (PU) NSS Camp concluded on Thursday with colourful cultural programme and motivational talks by the guests. The seven days camp had started on January 2.

The interaction session was held with the filmmaker Dr.Pali Bhupinder before the start of the valedictory session. The discussion was about the issues and problems relating to teenagers and youth of India. The students participated in the debate and discussed concerns of the students PU Campus.

The film produced by Puneet, showcasing the 7 days activities of the NSS Camp was also shown during the valedictory function. The students enthralled the audience with performances of classical dance, play on superstitions and role of science, Giddha and contemporary dance items. State Liaison Officer Bikram Rana, PU Dean Sciences Prof.Rupinder Tewari, PU Director NSS Prof. Yograj Angrish, Dr. Pali Bhupinder, Dr. Jatinder Grover, Campus Coordinator graced the occasion.

Prof. Rupinder Tewari shared his first-hand experience and observations about the strengths and weaknesses of Educational system in India and abroad. Prof. Tewari stressed that the students should opt for subjects and educational streams according to their aptitudes.

Bikram Rana charted the history of NSS in India. Rana lauded the efforts of the NSS volunteers at PU Campus. Campus Coordinator Dr. Jatinder Grover gave a brief sketch of the types of activities and initiatives undertaken by NSS Volunteers at PU campus.

Prof. Yograj Angrish, motivated to rise above themselves and work for the betterment of the society. He stressed on the striking the balance between curricular and extracurricular activities for overall development of NSS volunteers.

The report of the seven days camp was read by Dr. Harish and Prof. Navleen gave the vote of thanks to all the volunteers and team behind the successful completion of the NSS camp. The students took pledge to keep their campus Clean and Green and also to follow the traffic rules.
