The event aimed to reinforce the values of national unity, patriotism, and nation-building among the youth through the inspiring message of ‘Nation First’. The campaign was initiated by Dr. Vinit Joshi, IAS, Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Government of India. The programme held at CU Punjab was dedicated to expressing solidarity with the brave soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces who remain steadfast in defending the nation's borders.

As part of the programme, a Tiranga Rally was organized within the university campus to honour the Indian Army. On this occasion, the university community, led by Registrar Dr. Vijay Sharma and Dean In-charge Academics Prof. R.K. Wusurika, saluted the courage and valour of Indian soldiers. They also lauded the swift and decisive response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack through Operation Sindoor, and expressed gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership in ensuring national security.

In his written address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra Prasad Tiwari stated that in times of crisis, our greatest strength lies in unity, positive thinking, and purposeful action. He affirmed that the CU Punjab community stands firmly with the armed forces, which has demonstrated “unparalleled bravery and strategic excellence” during this challenging time. He informed that the university has set up a dedicated helpline for student support and arranged shuttle services for commuting between Bathinda and the campus. He appealed to students to inform their wardens or teachers before leaving the campus and urged villagers to refrain from burning crop residue while the blackout protocol remains in place. The villagers expressed their agreement and pledged full cooperation.

In his concluding remarks, Prof. Wusurika thanked the armed forces for safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty. He urged everyone to stay informed only through official communication channels of the local administration, State Government, or the Government of India. “Avoid speculating or spreading unverified information.
