Open Hearing Sitting Camp on Human Rights-Promoting Justice, Equality and Empathy
DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur had the privilege of hosting the Open Hearing Sitting Camp organised by the Punjab State and Chandigarh Human Rights Commission. The significant event witnessed the gracious presence of dignitaries, administrative officers, respected leaders from social organisations, resident welfare associations, sarpanches, media representatives and citizens of Jalandhar district.
Jalandhar, July 19, 2026: DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur had the privilege of hosting the Open Hearing Sitting Camp organised by the Punjab State and Chandigarh Human Rights Commission. The significant event witnessed the gracious presence of dignitaries, administrative officers, respected leaders from social organisations, resident welfare associations, sarpanches, media representatives and citizens of Jalandhar district.
The gathering was honoured by the presence of the Member of the Punjab State & Chandigarh Human Rights Commission, Padma Shri Jitender Singh Shunty, whose remarkable journey reflects the values of compassion, selfless service and commitment towards humanity.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Deepak Bhatia, SDM Phillaur; Bharat Bhushan, DSP Phillaur, Balwinder Singh, SHO Phillaur, Anudeep Bhanot, Tehsildar Phillaur; and Gurdeep Sahota, Naib Tehsildar Nurmahal, along with other respected officials and dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Padma Shri Jitender Singh Shunty highlighted that human rights are not privileges granted to a few but fundamental rights belonging to every individual. He emphasised the importance of justice, equality, dignity and empathy in building a responsible and harmonious society.
The session provided a meaningful platform where citizens could present their grievances, which were heard, evaluated and addressed by the concerned authorities. Senior officers of the Jalandhar district administration and representatives from various public departments participated actively to ensure effective redressal of issues.
The event reflected the school's commitment towards nurturing responsible citizens and creating awareness about constitutional values and human rights. It was a proud moment for the school to contribute towards strengthening the spirit of justice, compassion and community welfare.
Principal Dr Yogesh Gambhir extended heartfelt gratitude to the Member of the Punjab State & Chandigarh Human Rights Commission, Padma Shri Jitender Singh Shunty, and all the esteemed dignitaries for gracing this occasion with their presence.
