Rohtak, July 19, 2026: A Memorial Prayer Meeting was held on Sunday for Prof. Ram Ratan Saini, a retired professor and former Head of the Department of Commerce at MDU, Rohtak. Representatives from the Academic Community, various political parties, and social organizations paid heartfelt tributes to him.
Former Haryana Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty grant the departed soul a place at His holy feet. Paying tribute to the late Prof. Ram Ratan Saini, he acknowledged his remarkable contribution to the field of education.
Other speakers—including Gurnam Singh Saini (Chairman, Haryana Land Reclamation and Development Corporation), Bharat Bhushan Batra (MLA, Rohtak), Prof. Sunita Saini, Prof. Surendra Kumar, and Prof. Ravindra Vinayak (all from MDU), as well as Dharam Singh Dahiya (former President of Saini Education Society)—also recalled Prof. Saini's contributions to education.
Others who paid their respects to the late Prof. Ram Ratan Saini included former Minister Subhash Batra, Avnish Saini (President, Saini Education Society), Sunit Mukherjee (Director, Public Relations, MDU), Prof. Virendra Singh, Supreme Court Advocate Siddharth Batra, Chakravarti Sharma, Prof. Sanket Vij, Prof. Ishani Patharia, Prof. Pankaj Mishra, Khairati Lal (Superintendent, MDU VC Secretariat), Advocate Pradeep Saini, along with MDU faculty, staff, and other dignitaries.
