One Week Faculty Development Program on ‘Quality Research Tools’

Jalandhar, September 22, 2023: Research Committee of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar held a One-Week Faculty Development Program in collaboration with GNA University. The topic of the program was ‘Quality Research Tools’. 

The objective was to inculcate a culture of research and academic upliftment. Dr Manpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor, GNA Business School, GNA University, Phagwara was the resource person for the first two days. Her topics of concern were research concerns in qualitative and quantitative research. She elaborated her discourse on R-studio. She also made a discussion on Bibliometrics and Biblioshiny that are influential in formulating Review of Literature. 

Dr. Parveen Singh Kalsi was the resource person on third and fourth day. He familiarised the concept of Sentiment Analysis and also uprised the participants about 'VOS Viewer', which is a software used for qualitative research. 

Dr Anurag Sharma was the resource person on the last day. His area of concern was research paper publication. He enumerated prerequisites in writing a good quality research paper, getting them published and methods to avoid publication in cloned journals. These insights by distinguished academicians were intellectually stimulating and result driven. Bearing in mind the shifting paradigms to in the Education system and its chief emphasis on Research and Innovation, it is the need of the hour to organise such programs for the academic enrichment of faculty members.
