Chandigarh, March 2, 2026: To celebrate National Science Day, a one-day workshop was organised by the Centre for Medical Physics, P.U., on “Embedded System Designing Using Arduino”. The day is observed every year to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by the eminent physicist Sir C. V. Raman.
About 45 students from various departments, along with faculty members, participated in the programme. The lectures were delivered by Mr. Rahul Sachdeva (CTO, Healthywave Technologies), an entrepreneur, and Mr. Shivansh. Hands-on Arduino training was also provided to the students, covering practical skills in microcontroller programming, sensor interfacing, and circuit design.
The workshop sessions involved building projects using Arduino Uno, using the IDE to upload code, and exploring UART, SPI, and I2C protocols to enhance STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning. The main aim of the workshop was to improve technological literacy and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry-relevant skills.
Dr. Vivek Kumar, Chairperson, Centre for Medical Physics, also participated in the workshop and motivated the students. The celebration aimed to strengthen indigenous innovation and support the nation’s journey toward becoming a developed country (Viksit Bharat).
