Chandigarh, December 19, 2023: The Department of Community Education and Disability Studies, Panjab University, organized National Level Online Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) Programme on the theme ‘Assessment and Diagnosis of Specific Learning Disability’ in collaboration with Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) New Delhi.
The welcome note was delivered by Dr. Md Saifur Rahman, Chairperson of the department. Dr. Rahman stated that every child has potential of learning but there is only need to recognize for its manifestation in different ways of academic & non-academic development of their life. The resource persons of the event were Dr. Krishan Kumar Sony Associate Professor of PGIMER, Prof. (Dr.) Navleen Kaur and Nitin Raj (faculty, Department of Community Education and Disability Studies).
Dr. Sony suggested tools for LD Identification and explained how to educate LD in inclusive setup.
Prof. Navleen Kaur explained role of assessment to educate Learning Disabled children in inclusive environment and Nitin Raj expressed his views on role of technology in the assessment of learning disability and presented a case study on dyslexic child. Participants joined the program from every corner of India and from USA as well. Vote of thanks was presented by Prof.Dazy Zarabi.
