Community Kitchens Inspire People to Serve Society Selflessly: Social Worker Amitabh Rungta
Panchkula, September 19, 2026: On the auspicious occasion of Radha Ashtami, Non-Governmental organisation(NGO) Purushottam Das Rungta Charitable Trust organised a Community Kitchen or Ann Bhandara at Industrial Area Phase-1, Panchkula. The bhandara saw food and refreshments being distributed among people in need.
Speaking on the occasion, Trust Founder and social worker Amitabh Rungta said that a bhandara is a means of inspiring people to develop a spirit of selfless service towards society. He said an Ann Bhandara conveys the message that food is not merely nourishment but also a blessing from God, and sharing it brings greater happiness. Respecting food and sharing it with others with love is an important part of our culture and spirit of service, said Rungta.
Rungta further said that an Ann Bhandara is not merely an event for food distribution, but a sacred act associated with faith, service, compassion and goodwill.
To make the bhandara a success, volunteers of the Trust participated enthusiastically in the service activities and extended their valuable support in the distribution of food.
