NEWLY ELECTED PUNJABI SAHIT AKADEMI PRESIDENT PROF RAVINDER BHATHAL ASSUMES OFFICE

Ludhiana, May 7, 2018: Newly elected President of Punjabi Sahit Akademi (PSA) Prof Ravinder Bhathal today assumed office at Punjabi Bhawan, here. Other office bearers namely Senior Vice President Surinder Kailey, General Secretary Dr Surjit Singh, and others also assumed office.

Member of Parliament Ravneet Singh Bittu, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, MLA Kuldip Singh Vaid, Punjab Arts Council Chairman Dr Surjit Patar, former president Punjabi Sahit Akademi Prof Gurbhajan Gill, eminent photo artist Tej Partap Singh Sandhu, Canada based NRI & founder of Punjab Bhawan Surrey Mr Sukhi Bath, former Additional Advocate General Punjab Harpreet Singh Sandhu, besides several others specially came to wish the new team good luck as they assumed their offices at Punjabi Bhawan, here today.

While speaking during a brief function, Prof Ravinder Bhathal assured everyone that he would continue to work hard for the promotion of Punjabi language and culture. MP Ravneet Singh Bittu and Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu assured the new team of Punjabi Sahit Akademi all possible support from the government side.

Later, a function in the memory of legendary Punjabi Poet Shiv Kumar Batalvi was also organised. This function was organised in association with Ishmeet Singh Music Institute, in which students performed songs written by Shiv Kumar Batalvi.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included PSA Vice Presidents Sehajpreet Singh Mangat and Dr Gulzar Singh Pandher, Executive Committee members Trailochan Lochi, Jasbir Jhajj, Manjinder Singh Dhanoa and Sukhdarshan Garg, Dr Harjinder Singh Brar, Prof Santokh Singh Aujla, Kuldeep Singh Sandhu, Sushil Sharma Mumbai, Pali Khadim, Rajdeep Toor, Gurdev Singh Lapran, Manjit Singh Hambran, Indermohan Singh Kadian, Kamaljit Singh Karwal, Jagmohan Singh Oster, Neelam Parmar, Raman Balasubramaniam, Charanjit Singh USA, Dr Charan Kamal Singh, besides several others.
