New director takes over PURC, Ludhiana

Ludhiana, July 22, 2022: Prof. (Dr.) Aman Amrit Cheema, joined as 10th Director of Panjab University Regional Centre (PURC), Ludhiana today. She is the faculty of University Institute of Laws, PURC, Ludhiana since 2004. She has done her LLB (Gold Medalist) and LLM from GNDU Regional Centre, Jalandhar, and her Doctorate from University of Jammu, Jammu. Prof. Cheema has achieved admirals in academics with around 45 international and national publications, presented more than 50 papers in seminars, conferences, workshops. She has been invited to deliver lectures as resource persons in various universities and colleges. Prof. Cheema has been part of various inspection committees, selection committees etc. of Panjab University, Chandigarh. She believes that her 18 years association with the institution has taught her so much about different perspectives of education, administration and life that she owes significantly to the institution. When asked about her plans for the regional centre she said that she has a vision to develop educational standards of Law & MBA departments, Placement & Alumni Cell, infrastructure and membership of Extension Library, student friendly admission process, under the farsighted vision of Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar, Panjab University, Chandigarh.  Her priorities during the tenure would also be developing conducive environment for all the students, teachers and non-teaching staff, and to enhance research oriented activities for the development of faculty as well students. She believes that with positive and accommodating attitude of the Head of the any institution, colleagues turn into acquaintances and the effort of improvement becomes a collaborative work.
