Natyam Festival Evening 8: Saadat Hasan Manto’s writing ‘License’ presented by Gurugram Artists

Bathinda, October 9, 2022: Under the able guidance of Chairman Kashish Gupta, President Sudarshan Gupta, and Director Kirti Kripal, Natyam Punjab is successfully organizing its 15-day 11th National Theatre Festival at MRSPTU Campus, Bathinda, which entered into its 8th evening on which a Hindustani play ‘License’ written by renowned Punjabi story writer Saadat Hasan Manto, was presented. The artists from AVR School of Drama, Gurugram, gave this marvellous performance under the direction of Ashok Bhakri. Presented with the support of Haryana Kala Parishad, the play put the light on the atrocities committed against women, in which a blind woman and a Tangewala fall in love with each other and get married, but the woman's father does not accept this.

This drama festival is organized by collaborative efforts of North Zone Cultural Center Patiala, Punjab Sangeet Natak Academy, Haryana Kala Parishad, and Sangeet Natak Academy. The special guests including Dr. Diwakar Garg and Dr. Shweta Garg from Garg Advanced Hair Transplant Clinic, Dr. Atin Gupta, Indrani Hospital, Dr. Gursewak Singh, Care Hospital, Dr. Gursevak Lambi Ex-DYW, Harjit Kainth, Aadi Manch and Ex-MLA and Senior BJP Leader Sarup Chand Singla added more grace to the event and lightened the lamp. Both the guests and the management expressed their happiness about the interest of the audience coming continuously in large numbers to watch the play.
