Mohali, March 5, 2026: The Department of Applied Sciences, School of Engineering and Technology at CGC University Mohali celebrated 'National Science Day' with great fervor and academic spirit. The event was dedicated to the enduring legacy of the legendary scientist Sir C.V. Raman. This year’s theme, "Women in Science: Encouraging Viksit Bharat," provided a meaningful direction to the celebrations, inspiring students to recognize the pivotal role of women in shaping India’s scientific future.
The campus remained a hub of activity throughout the day. Students demonstrated their technical prowess through project exhibitions featuring working models, prototypes, and research-based presentations. These efforts highlighted their scientific temperament and boosted their confidence in applying science to solve real-world challenges.
The centerpiece of the event was ‘TechSci Nova 2026’, where students presented more than 100 innovative projects, including software solutions and hardware models. Other competitive events included ‘TalentX Skill Nova’, ‘Exhibit-Show 2026’, ‘Syntax Storm’, ‘AI vs AI’, and ‘Quizwiz Fest’. Special segments like ‘NextGen Podcast 2.0’ and ‘Technical Poster Making’ focused specifically on the contributions of women to science.
Arsh Dhaliwal, Managing Director of CGC University, whose visionary leadership and constant support were instrumental in the day's success, emphasized that such events transform traditional celebrations into opportunities for students to become future innovators.
