Municipal Corporation Ludhiana sets up teams to prevent spread of Lumpy Skin Disease in city

Ludhiana, August 13, 2022: The Municipal Corporation Ludhiana on Saturday constituted teams of experts at zonal level in the city to further prevent the spread of Lumpy Skin Disease and administrating Goat Pox to the healthy cattle. The teams would work under the supervision of Medical Officer Health Dr Gulshan Rai who has been appointed nodal officer for MC jurisdiction. 

A spokesperson said that the teams comprising Dr Vipal Malhotra, Ashwani Sahota, Dr Pratishth Batish and Medical Pharmacists Vijay Kapoor along with chief sanitary inspectors and sanitary inspectors would work round the clock to ensure treatment of affected cattle whether stray or Gaushalas, in proper coordination with animal husbandry department. Further, the teams would also ensure scientific disposal of cattle died to Lumpy Skin Disease besides administrating the Goat Pox vaccine to all healthy cattle. 

The spokesperson added that MC also issued helpline numbers of Medical Officers Dr Gulshan Rai (94642 74949) and Dr Ravi Khera (98155 45071) for the general public. He said that they could be contacted for any kind of help for the affected cattle.
