MP Manish Tewari Inaugurates CCTV Cameras in Indira Colony
Chandigarh MP and former Union Minister Manish Tewari inaugurated CCTV cameras installed in Indira Colony, Manimajra. He had released a grant of ₹5 lakh from his Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) fund for the installation of the cameras.
Chandigarh, August 17, 2026: Chandigarh MP and former Union Minister Manish Tewari inaugurated CCTV cameras installed in Indira Colony, Manimajra. He had released a grant of ₹5 lakh from his Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) fund for the installation of the cameras.
Addressing the gathering, MP Tewari said that the CCTV cameras would enhance the sense of security among residents and play an important role in curbing criminal activities in the area. He said that local residents had been demanding the installation of CCTV cameras for a long time, and their demand had finally been fulfilled. He added that efforts would continue to address other basic needs of the area as well.
Tewari said that he has been releasing grants from his MP fund from time to time for the development of Chandigarh, while several other development projects are also underway across different parts of the city.
On the occasion, Chandigarh Congress President H.S. Lucky said that the Congress party understands the needs of the people and that MP Tewari is making sincere efforts to address them. He assured full cooperation from the party for the development of the city.
Earlier, Sahil Chawar, General Secretary of the Residents’ Welfare Association and spokesperson of the Youth Congress, along with his colleagues, thanked MP Tewari for fulfilling the long-pending demand of the residents.
Among others, Chandigarh Youth Congress President Deepak Lubana, District Congress President Surjit Singh Dhillon, Youth Congress President Dheeraj Gupta, Joint Secretary Net Ram Rana, Block President Pankaj Thakur, Bijender Dulgach, Youth Congress Vice President Atinder Robby, Shri Valmiki Temple President Ajay Pohal, RWA President Satbir Kangra, Chairman Surinder Singh, were also present.
