Mentoring Programme for Government School Teachers begins in Doaba College

Jalandhar, February 10, 2023: Doaba College’s Disha Committee along with SCERT Punjab organized 4 Day Mentoring Programme for Govt. School Teachers in seminar hall. On the First Day in the morning session Dr. Rajiv Kumar Garg – Centre for Rehabilitee Improvement in Industry, NIT Jalandhar, Dr. Ashish Arora – School of Business Studies, GNDU, Amritsar.  
 
Dr Rajiv Khosla, Head of Bio-Technology and Dr Manjeet Kaur from DAV University, graced the occasion as resource persons, Sh. Gursharan Singh – DEO, Sh. Dharminder Rana- Principal DIET, Sh. Jeevan Kumar – BNO, Sh. Deepak Kumar, Sh. Dharampal Singh, Sh. Munish Kumar, Sh. Satnam Singh as Guests of Honour. The dignitaries were accorded a hearty welcome by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Dr. Ominder Johal – Programme Coordinator, Prof. Sukhvinder Singh, Dr. Suresh Mago, Satff and 120 Govt. School Teachers.

While welcoming the august gathering Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari said the teachers are the builders of the nation who always believe in making the world a better place to live in by disseminating the knowledge to the students in such a way that they become the integral part of every module of success in society. 

Dr. Rajiv Kumar Garg spoke on stress management and time management by discussing in detail various methods to handle and manage stress in work place and life. He elaborated the reasons for stress and also talked about emotional, physical, intellectual and behavioural stresses, their symptoms and remedial treatments cum solutions. 

Dr. Ashish Arora – School of Business Studies, GNDU, Asr acted as resource person in the afternoon session. He talked about effective communication and problem solving modules. He gave practical examples of case studies regarding effective communication techniques with which teachers can establish good rapport with students while teaching he opined that there is utmost need for teachers to connect with students, launch mentorship programs so as to help them to 

Dr Rajiv Khosla opined that we must keep on learning something. If we stop learning new things, our development also stops. The teachers can enhance their skills by learning about other subjects as well. In the 21st century, the students and teachers have to connect to one another using different technologies. transform their aims and ambitions into successful careers.

Dr Mnjeet  Kaur presented her views on the topic ‘Child Psychology: Pre Covid and Post Covid’. She highlighted the need to understand child psychology. If negative thoughts are instilled in childhood the future will also be dark. That is why, it is important for the parents and teachers to develop a psychological connect with the students. Covid period had a disastrous effect on the psychology of children.
