A mega credit outreach program to disburse loans under various Government sponsored schemes like AIF, KCC, PMFME, PMEGP, PMMUDRA, PMSvanidhi, SHG etc., through banks, was organised on November 25th at Mamom Ground, Attingal, Trivandrum.

A mega credit outreach program to disburse loans under various Government sponsored schemes like AIF, KCC, PMFME, PMEGP, PMMUDRA, PMSvanidhi, SHG etc., through banks, was organised on November 25th at Mamom Ground, Attingal, Trivandrum. 

The program was organised by Indian Overseas Bank, Lead Bank for Trivandrum, and Canara Bank,  State Level Bankers Committee Convenor for Kerala state. Other Banks in the District have participated in the program. Bank loans have been disbursed to 1,52,784 beneficiaries amounting to Rs.6,015 crores under various Government sponsored schemes. Additionally, beneficiaries under various schemes of NABARD and SIDBI were given sanction letters.

 The credit outreach program aimed at showcasing the commitment of various banks towards upliftment of poor, women, Self Help Groups, street vendors, micro and small enterprises, farmers etc and bringing them into mainstream.

Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman graced the occasion in the presence of V Muraleedhran, MoS for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Vivek Joshi, Secretary, DFS, Ajay Kumar Srivastava, MD & CEO of Indian Overseas Bank, Satyanarayana Raju, MD& CEO of Canara Bank, Shaji KV, Chairman NABARD, Sivasubramanian Raman Chairman, SIDBI along with representatives from various banks, Government Officials, beneficiaries, and school children totalling to approx. 5,000 people, turning this event into collaborative effort for the betterment of community.

During the program, Nirmala Sitharaman also handed over a cheque of Rs. 3 lakh to Principal, V H SS Kallara School for purchase of furniture and study material under CSR activity of Indian Overseas Bank. On behalf of Government of India, Chandrayan-3 Model was handed over to selected children of 10 schools in Trivandrum District to motivate them towards Science & Technology.
