Ferozepur, September 19, 2015: A Mega Blood Donation Camp was organized jointly by Achiever’s Society (Poly Wing), NSS unit (I & II) and Red Ribbon Clubs (Engineering & Poly Wing) of SBS Technical Campus in association with various Youth Clubs associated with Youth Services Department, Ferozepur and District Red Cross Society, Ferozepur. Prof Gazal Preet Singh was coordinator of this Blood Donation Camp.
The inauguration of this camp was done was by Chief Guest Er. D. P. S. Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur. Dr. T. S. Sidhu, Campus Director; Sh. Ashok Kumar Behal, Secretary District Red Cross Society, Ferozepur; Sh. Jagjit Singh Chahal, Assistant Director, Youth Services Department, Ferozepur were Guest of Honour.
404 units of blood was collected during this Camp, in which students of Polytechnic & Engineering Wing of this State Technical Campus; students of Baba Bidhi Chand Polytechnic College; students of Government Polytechnic College, Ferozepur; students of DAV College for Women, Ferozepur.
The Presidents of various Youth Services Clubs of nearby region, namely Basti Pyareana, Chak Haraj Village, Changali Jadid, Kabar Vaccha, Kattowal, Poje Ke Village, Sadardeen Wala, Village Pyareana, Wara Waryam Singh Wala Village also participated with great enthusiasm along with their dedicated teams. Mr. Subhash Chander Pindi, Ex Sarpanch of Pindi Village, Mr. Iqbal Chand (Ex Sarpanch and Ex Block Samiti Member) from Shaheed Udham Singh Wala Village and and Mr Pappu Sandha from Panje Ke Uttar also contributed to this Camp with their support base of approximately 150 volunteers donors for this noble cause.
Madam Amar Jyoti Mangat, Parvesh Block Coordinator, Dhindsa and Mrs Sarabjeet Kaur, Govt Sr Sec School, Ferozeshah, also encouraged all the Blood Donors and provided them with Medals and refreshment.
Two teams of Blood Bank from local Civil Hospital, Ferozepur and Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Amritsar participated in the Camp for collection of Blood.
On this occasion Prof Gazal Preet Singh, Principal Poly Wing (Coordinator of this Camp); Prof Gurjeevan Singh (Chariperson-Achievers Society); Prof Sukhwant Singh (Programme Officer NSS Unit II); Mr Gurpreet Singh (Programme Officer NSS Unit I); Mr Rahul Chopra (Nodal Officer Red Ribbon Club Poly Wing); Mr J S Mangat, Programme Officer NSS; Mr Amarjeet Singh; Mr Gobind; Mr Rahul Sharma; Mr Karamjeet Singh; Mr Manpreet Singh; Mr Ajay Kumar Singla and Mr Amritpal Singh were present.
The valedictory function was presided over by Er D P S Kharbanda and Dr T S Sidhu, Campus Director. All the blood donors were felicitated with Mementoes, Certificates, Medals and Badges during the prize distribution ceremony. All the Blood Donors were provided with refreshment (Milk, Bananas, Juice and Biscuits).
Er. D. P. S. Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur appreciated the efforts of SBS Technical Campus and promised more such social activities in collaboration with SBSSTC will be organised in future for welfare of society. He also congratulated Dr. T. S. Sidhu, Campus Director and Prof Gazal Preet Arneja, Principal Polytechnic Wing (Coordinator of this Blood Donation Camp) for encouraging students to voluntarily donate Blood during this Camp.
In the end, Prof Gazal Preet Singh Coordinator of this Camp thanked all the Blood Donors.
