Meeting Held as per Deputy Commissioner’s Directions to Develop Village Madoudi as a Model Village

As per the directions of Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta, a joint meeting of farmers and officers of concerned departments was held in village Madoudi Jatan to prepare an action plan aimed at strengthening the economic condition of farmers. The Deputy Commissioner had recently instructed the concerned departments to prepare a comprehensive plan with the objective of doubling farmers’ income.

Rohtak, 7 January, 2026: As per the directions of Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta, a joint meeting of farmers and officers of concerned departments was held in village Madoudi Jatan to prepare an action plan aimed at strengthening the economic condition of farmers. The Deputy Commissioner had recently instructed the concerned departments to prepare a comprehensive plan with the objective of doubling farmers’ income.

 

On 24 December, during a review meeting, DC Sachin Gupta had directed officers of the Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries Departments to prepare an action plan to develop one village of the district as a model village. During that meeting, village Madoudi was selected for this initiative. The officers were instructed to study the existing occupations adopted by farmers in the village and prepare a plan to introduce additional allied activities to enhance and diversify farmers’ income.

 

In the meeting held with farmers in village Madoudi Jatan, officers from the Agriculture Department, Animal Husbandry & Dairy Department, Fisheries Department, Horticulture Department, and other departments of Rohtak district were present. Detailed discussions were held between farmers and officers.

 

The Agriculture Department shared information on the crop cycle followed in the village, major crop operations, and prevailing agricultural practices. Deputy Director of Agriculture Dr. Surender Malik assured farmers and villagers that such interactive meetings would continue to be organized in the future.

 

Farmers informed the officers that due to a high water table, crops often get damaged repeatedly, and requested government intervention for a permanent solution. The Assistant Soil Conservation Officer informed that efforts are already underway in this direction and that a survey report will be sent to the headquarters along with a proposal from the Gram Panchayat for further action.

 

The meeting also included discussions on integrated farming, in which four farmers expressed their willingness to participate. Agriculture officers also informed farmers about a proposed exposure visit to the model farms established at CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar.

 

Farmers requested the Animal Husbandry & Dairy Department to resolve issues related to animal insurance and to organize awareness camps on animal husbandry in the village. Sub-Divisional Officer Dr. Narendra Dahiya assured that efforts would be made to address these concerns. District Horticulture Officer Dr. Madan Lal briefed farmers about various beneficial schemes being implemented by the department, while farmers requested an increase in subsidy amounts under ongoing schemes.

 

District Fisheries Officer Asha Hooda Ahlawat provided detailed information about the welfare schemes of the Fisheries Department. The Gram Panchayat expressed gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for selecting Madoudi Jatan as a model village and thanked all officers for participating in the meeting.

 

On this occasion, officers including the Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, Subject Matter Specialists, Assistant Plant Protection Officer, Assistant Sugarcane Development Officer, Assistant Soil Conservation Officer, Land Survey Officer, and officials from other departments were present.
